Tribute to Dr. Sultan Pradhan and best wishes for the new Cancer Hospital.

This is my tribute to Dr Sultan Pradhan whom I got to know well when I was working with Prince Aly Khan Hospital where he was the Chairman for 10 years.
He has already offered me a role to develop the materials dept. once the new hospital becomes functional.

Dr. Sultan Pradhan, India's most respected oncologist surgeon for the last 4 decades, is coming up with a new cancer hospital in Mumbai.

Dr Sultan Pradhan

A state of the art to be  hospital, which is expected to go live by the end of 2021, will be a 100 bedded hospital, on a small plot of land provided by the BMC at Mazagoan, Mumbai. The new hospital will  have a dedicated ICU, 5 operation theatres, a Radio therapy department, a day care center, and  a OPD wing in the 7 storey building  with 3 basement floors.

The hospital will also act as a training institute, which will be run by Con Care Trust, led by Dr.Sultan Pradhan and 2 other doctors as they have been doing so, since almost 3 decades.
The name of the upcoming hospital would be The Head & Neck Institute of India.

The hospital is likely to follow the Tata Memorial Hospital model, where 20% beds would be available free for the poor patients, with a reasonable fee for the rest.

Funding of this hospital is   largely by Tata Trust, Narotam Seksaria Foundation, & Allana Trust, Over   300 donors have also contributed and many more are donating generously for the Cause.
This magnificent project took seed some 6 years ago ,when a meeting between Dr.Pradhan and  the  Municipal Commissioner and the  Additional Municipal Commissioner  Sitaram Kunte and  Manisha Mahiskar, approved  the project, fully  backed by   CM Devendra Fadnavis & Sharad Pawar, who have taken personal  interest in fast tracking the various permissions for the project.

As per Dr.Pradhan, the functioning of this new hospital will definitely bring down the enormous load off the Tata Memorial Hospital, where over 200 cases involving surgeries to  head and  neck injuries  alone are attended to ,with a long waiting list. Re surgeries continue to add to number.

Head and Neck Hospital Mumbai

A  Dhanvantri Award winner, Dr.Sultan Pradhan, whose dream has always been to reduce the pangs of the " Street of Sorrow" where patients from all over India camp on the streets adjoining the Tata Memorial Hospital. They await their  turn  for surgery, a very sad sight indeed. Hopefully the new hospital would reduce the ‘Queue’  substantially.

An angel of a person, a messiah of the poor and their suffering, fully dedicated to his profession, this dynamic, ethical soft spoken, onco surgeon deserves the blessings of all of us.
May the Almighty continue give him the zeal and  good health, to continue serving the  mankind and hopefully he completes his new project quickly and begin serving the impacted patients with his love and care.

STAY BLESSED RESPECTED SIR,..MAY THE GODS BE ALWAYS WITH YOU.
